The time has come to repeal the dozens of unjust abortion laws in Georgia; ensure that no one is imprisoned for intentional abortion; and adopt policy changes that help us to have real access to abortion when we need it, without prejudice or barriers, and to start families and raise children on our own terms. The law is leading to a new battle between state officials and local authorities who have said they will not enforce the law. A handful of district attorneys in liberal areas have vowed not to use their resources to criminalize women seeking abortions and safe abortion providers.
