Boone County Legal Aid

The WVVA offers its services to needy and low-income families whose total household income is 125% of the poverty line (according to LSC standards). Currently, we have expanded a legal department to 8 selected counties by providing legal aid clinics. Legal aid clinics offer support to pro-se litigants who otherwise would not be able to afford a lawyer. These clinics offer qualified candidates multiple ways to access the following legal services, but are not limited to: The goal of Iowa Legal Aid is to communicate effectively with our clients. We can use large print, relay Iowa, language translation service or other steps for effective communication. Interpretation and translation services and reasonable accommodation are provided free of charge to qualified candidates. Please let us know if a special service is needed to provide you with legal assistance. The Legal Self-Help Centre does not provide legal advice to its clients. Instead, it provides clients with legal information on topics such as instructions for available forms, answers to general legal questions, and information about court proceedings. The Boone County Legal Aid Clinic, provided by the WVVA, operates every 2nd Thursday of the month. The Legal Aid Clinic is held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

You should go to court to get a public defense lawyer. Also excluded from the program are small claims cases, bankruptcy, workers` compensation, estates, and certain other types of cases (e.g., fee-generating cases). On the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Boone County Courthouse, Wabash Valley Volunteer Lawyers host a free legal aid clinic.

Visit volunteer lawyers in Wabash Valley and REQUEST legal assistance in the atrium of the courthouse. This clinic cannot help with criminal cases or cost-generating cases.
