The goal of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services` Pro Bono North Shore project is to provide low-income residents of the Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, and Washington communities with free legal services in a variety of eligible civil cases. Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) is a not-for-profit law firm that has been serving residents of low-income communities since 1979. SLLS offers free services to eligible individuals through its employees and pro bono lawyers. SLLS works with community groups and social services to provide up-to-date information on legal issues affecting the poor in Louisiana. SLLS also works with other legal advocacy groups across the state and nationwide in litigation and educational efforts to protect the legal rights of the poor and improve their lives. The Hammond office serves the parishes of Livingston, St.

Helena and Tangipahoa. The Covington office serves congregations in St. Tammany and Washington. Communities south of Lake Ponchartrain are served by offices in New Orleans and Harvey. The Baton Rouge office serves this metropolitan area and the Houma office serves the communities of Lafourche and Terrebonne. SLLS covers an area of 22 municipalities.
